WELCOME PARENTS AND TEACHERS
ABOUT US
The Neil Cummins PTO is comprised of volunteer parents who work together to create a strong school community and support our staff and students. Through our families' financial and time contributions, we are able to provide classroom supplies, curriculum materials, the school garden, playground equipment, family social events, campus improvement, staff appreciation activities, and more.
What does Supporting the PTO mean? We ask families to donate $95 per student at the beginning of the school year as a contribution to the PTO General Fund. The PTO General Fund provides for teacher classroom budgets, classroom materials, teacher development, school events, and more (see below). Coming in January we will hold our annual Readathon, which is our primary fundraiser. The kids love the excitement around this event, which includes contests, a whole day of reading activities, raffle prizes, and author visits. Money raised supports the Neil Cummins PTO, funding programs and campus improvements that directly benefit the students. The goal is to raise $175 per student throughout the month-long Readathon fundraiser.
Our monthly board meetings are open to everyone and are held on or near the first Wednesday of every month at 8:15 a.m. in Neil Cummins Classroom A1. During these meetings we discuss what is happening in our school and the best way to support staff and students. We hear updates from our Principal, the LCMSD Board of Trustees, our PTO teacher rep and SPARK on key issues of interest to our parent community.
We do differ from SPARK - SPARK raise funds for the entire School District not just Neil Cummins and support Music, Art, Science and Technology programs across Neil Cummins, The Cove and Hall.
