Bluebird Babies in the Garden!

It’s an exciting time in the school garden! Our bluebird parents have been busy feeding their newly hatched young. This heartwarming moment began back in March when NC-parent, Peyton Williams, thoughtfully rodent-proofed the nest boxes, giving these bluebirds a safe place to raise their family.

Listen to the video clip at the end!

Now, just weeks later, the chicks are growing fast. Once feeding begins, it typically takes about 16–21 days for the fledglings to leave the nest — which means we could expect them to take flight sometime this coming week!

We’ll be a little sad to see them go, but thrilled to know we’ve helped them get a strong start. The parent birds have seemed just as curious about us. They've often been watching as students work and play in the garden.

What a joy to share this space with nature!
