This week, hardworking ninth grader and NC alum Aiden Zamzow, along with his dad, Nash, earned community service hours by lending their time and energy to the garden.

Together, they cut back the Monarch Waystation, clearing out last season’s growth of Goldenrod to make room for fresh spring plants that will support migrating butterflies.

They also tackled the teachers’ trugs outside classrooms, removing weeds to ensure these raised beds are ready for new plantings. Their efforts not only keep our garden spaces thriving but also create a welcoming environment for both students and pollinators.

Some of the goldenrod was left a little loner, to provide habitat for the last few days of winter cold.

A big thank you to this father-and-son duo for their continued dedication to our school’s outdoor spaces! 🌿🦋
