Spring has arrived, and with it comes the return of garden lessons. We’re delighted to welcome students back into the garden, where outdoor learning reconnects them with the rhythms of the season and the living world around them.
This spring we’ve added a second Garden Educator, Sophie, a Refugia Marin intern and experienced garden educator, who joins Natalie from the first semester. Your student will see either Natalie or Sophie for their lesson.
Natalie and Sophie will guide classes through hands-on activities that connect directly with grade-level curriculum while encouraging curiosity, observation, and discovery in the garden.
This month, younger students in grades K–2 are exploring the fascinating world of trees, learning how they grow and why they matter.
Meanwhile, students in grades 3–5 are diving into biodiversity, discovering how different plants, insects, and animals work together to create a thriving habitat.
